I haven’t tested this alongside many other plugins, so I can’t promise smooth interactions. It hooks pretty deep into ProseMirror, so compatibility is very much ‘try it and see’ right now.

Very nice.

(I was a bit irritated by the way the math content shifts around and changes size when you cursor through it, but I see what problem the extra borders and separators are solving. Have you tried styling those (as outlines rather than borders, and using zero-offsetwidth elements) so that they don’t change the layout?)

Yes I tried outlines (outlines are also used btw in addition to borders) and zero-offsetwidth elements. I think normal text is uniquely very fortunate with how simple the structure is. Nothing really slants\*, there are fixed line heights and nothing is 3D. So it makes the zero-width caret possible in a way that did not work for me with math. There are math editors (famously MathLive) that have taken the more standard approach to the caret, but that’s also part of the reason I made this, because I don’t think that’s ideal for math editing.
